How to Bid?

Arrow Condition Reports

It is strongly recommended that anyone wishing to leave a bid, obtain a condition report from one of our experts , these can be provided by phone or email. On occasions our descriptions do draw attention to condition problems, however, the absence of such advice does not imply that a lot is in good or entirely original condition. Additional photographs can also be provided for lots within the sale by email.

Arrow Bidding

New customers wishing to bid at Indikē will need to register with us. Customers will be required to fill out a registration form and provide supporting documents.

For verification purposes, we require potential bidders to submit the following documents:

  • Any Government issued proof of identity.
  • Any Government issued proof of residence.
  • PAN and Aadhar details (proof of the prospective bidder’s tax residency status).
  • If the prospective bidder is not an individual, Indikē  may require additional information and documentation with respect to the entity (i.e Board resolution and Memorandum of Association).
  • A Board Resolution authorizing the selected representative of the Company to bid in the auction on its behalf and bind the Company, together with photo identification of such representative.
Arrow Commission Bidding

Also known as absentee bidding this is a way of bidding for an item when you cannot make a sale, commission bids can be left in person, by telephone, or via this secure website. Certain details will be required for leaving a commission bid and thus we do not recommend sending them via email. The auctioneer will carry out a commission bid on your behalf and endeavor to purchase a lot or lots at the lowest price possible against any other bids or reserves. In the instance of identical commission bids, the first bid placed will take precedence.

Arrow Telephone Bidding

This service is offered subject to availability of telephone lines and arrangements must be made at least one day before the sale. Telephone bidding is only available on lots carrying a lower catalogue estimate of at least INR 3 Lakhs.


How to Pay & Collect?

Arrow Buyer’s Premium

Is calculated at 15% plus GST (ranging from 3 to 18 %) of the hammer price, on the commission at the current rate, where appropriate. This will be charged on the hammer price of each lot purchased.

Arrow Invoicing & Payments
  • All invoicing particulars are to be provided by the bidder prior to start of the auction.
  • After the sale, the buyer as invoiced is required to pay the amounts in full (including any additional charges) within 7 business days.
  • Bank Transfer: You may electronically transfer funds to our account. When doing so, please quote the sale details along with the lot number and invoice number as the reference. For payments made by bank transfer, all bank charges which are payable by the remitter.
  • Demand Draft / Cheque: To be made in favour of  Indikē Auctions Pvt Ltd.

Arrow Collection & Transportation

Once items have been paid for in full and all necessary funds have cleared, items can be released to the purchaser. We do not provide postage or packaging services but we can recommend specialist carriers if you wish to have items delivered.

Arrow Registering Antiquities

For all works in the auction that are registered with the Archaeological Survey of India, the buyer will be required to follow the process of transferring ownership from the seller to their name.

Please note that the name on the invoice and the name on the registration certificate will need to be one and the same.

Once payment has been received in full, the transfer process can begin. The property will remain with Indikē for the duration of the transfer process, and will be handed over to the buyer upon completion.

As agent for the seller, Indikē is obligated to ensure that the registration and transfer process are completed in accordance with the Antiquities and Art TreasuresAct,1972.

Indikē will not be responsible for any delays in the registration or transfer process. While Indikē will assist with the process, buyers are solely responsible for communicating with the ASI and ensuring that the Registration Certificate is received by them safely and accurately.

All charges, if any, associated with the registration and transfer process will be borne by the buyer.

All works either registered with the Archaeological Survey of India, or, are over a hundred years old, or, are National Treasures, whether specifically indicated in the catalogue or otherwise are NON-EXPORTABLE as per the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972 and cannot be taken out of India.
